lunar landscape

the moon looks to be too full
for the sky tonight

too round
and too bright
for the darkness
that I taste in my mouth

too energetic
for the weariness in my bones

too decadent
for the dirt underneath my nails

too clear
for the cobwebs rattling inside my rusty heart

perhaps I can wrap my limbs around you tonight
and find a place for the moon to exist
in your arms.
