happiness

"If you observe a really happy man, you will find him building a boat,
writing a symphony, educating his child, growing double dahlias or
looking for dinosaur eggs in the Gobi Desert. He will not be searching
for happiness as if it were a collar button that had rolled under the
radiator, striving for it as a goal in itself. He will have become aware
that he is happy in the course of living life twenty-four crowded hours
of each day."
W. Beran Wolfe, 1900-1935
Author and Psychiatrist

New!

I love all things new. I am an Aries, and I think, naturally, that I am predisposed to liking new starts, new opportunities, new seasons, new changes...

... my senses are heightened and delighted when I can crack open the spine of a brand new book and gulp the pages down voraciously;

... when I can stamp my footprints into deep, unblemished powder snow;

...when I used to go shopping for school supplies which signaled the start of a brand new year;

... when I get handed a fresh work project to sink my teeth into;

... when I tear off a clean sheet of paper to draw on;

And so, with the ushering in of a brand new year, 2008, I approach the newness with excitement, with a huge grin on my face, and a deep inhalation of breath. This is FUN! I have no idea where this year will take me. I can hardly remember what path 2007 led me on - but I know that I have a new slate, a new chance to make friends, to explore and discover, to travel, to laugh often and deeply, to love, to dance, to celebrate, to play, to giggle, to BE, to work hard, to work little, to read, to dream, to shag a lot, to get fit, to indulge, to create, to hug, to cry, to get angry, to dare, to immerse myself in beauty, to escape, to wander, to question, to open myself wider and experience the world more deeply.

And I look forward to every minute of it!
